2011 Ford Mustang Commercial debuts on American Idol

Just as the 2011 Ford Mustang is hitting dealerships Ford is ramping up their advertising with a television commercial on American Idol.  It’s the first 2011 Mustang commercial and all I have to say is if this does not get you excited about the 2011 Mustang I don’t know what will.  The commerical highlights the 2011 Mustang V-6 with its 31 MPG and 305 Horsepower.

2010 Hurst Ford Racing Mustang Pace Car Photos

2011 Mustang GT’s are Shipping Today

In my previous post I told you 2011 Mustang V-6 and Shelby GT500 models were already shipping to dealers nationwide but Mustang GT’s were on hold for some issue.  Well that hold has been lifted and the vehicles are on their way to Ford dealerships.  No official announcement was made by Ford on the shipping hold but we have seen a few articles about how the Volcanic Ash impacted production at two of Ford’s plants last week, one being the Mustang plant.  Wether this had anything to do with it we really don’t know but we are glad 5.0 Mustangs are starting to ship.

**Update: This is actually the First 2011 Mustang sold to the public as the owner was contacted by Ford Public Relations and given confirmation along with an invitation to the plant for a look around.**

We knew delivery of the 2011 Ford Mustang would happen sometime at the end of April and sure enough Ford came through on their end as one of the first owners received her red candy metallic 2011 Mustang V-6 coupe yesterday.  It helps the new owner lives in the Detroit area as other V-6 and Shelby GT500’s have been shipped out all over the country.  As for the 412 horsepower 2011 Mustang GT, they are said to be on shipping hold for some issue. … Continue Reading

GAS Creates ‘Red Mist’ Mustang for movie ‘Kick-Ass’

Galpin Auto Sports latest creation for the silver screen is the ‘Red Mist’ Mustang featured in the new movie ‘Kick-Ass’ .  The ‘Red Mist’ Mustang was built for the superhero Red Mist played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse (aka. McLovin from Superbad).

Hurst and Ford Racing to Debut 550 Horsepower Mustang Challenge Pace Car

Hurst Performance Vehicles and Ford Racing are teaming up to debut another special-edition Mustang that will serve as the pace car for the 2010 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Series.  The 2010 Hurst Ford Racing Mustang pace car will make its debut during the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge race at Virginia International Raceway on April 25th. 

The 2010 Hurst Ford Racing Mustang pace car will feature a supercharged 550 horsepower V-8 engine, Ford Racing FR500S stainless-steel cat-back exhaust and K&N filter.  Other items finding their way onto the pace car include 20-inch forged aluminum Hurst polished wheels with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires, Hurst Competition/Plus shifter with black T-handle, 14-inch rotors and 4-piston calipers from Ford Racing, tradional Hurst Black on gold paint and Hurst leather interior. … Continue Reading

Shelby American Set to Begin 2011 Shelby GT350 and Super Snake Production

Production for the upcoming 2011 Shelby GT350 and Super Snake is set to begin as 2011 Mustangs are in transit to Shelby American’s Las Vegas facility.  Once the 2011 Mustang GT’s arrive they will be transformed into the new Shelby GT350 and Super Snake models.  The Shelby GT350 is a post-title package offered by Shelby American carrying an MSRP of $33,995 not including the 2011 Mustang GT.  A Ford Racing supercharger mated to the all-new 5.0-liter V-8 will pump out 500 horsepower.

This past weekend the 2010 Formula Drift season opener took place in Long Beach, California with Vaughn Gittin Jr. taking home first place over Rhys Millen and his Hyundai Genesis coupe. Vaugn’s new 2011 Mustang GT powered by a supercharged 4.6-liter V-8 engine features Monster Energy Drink as the new sponsor for the 2010 season.
