We have known about Carroll Shelby’s 1,000 horsepower twin-turbo GT500 project for quite sometime and as time has passed we thought it was just another outlandish rumor. Well, it seems like those rumors have become reality as Shelby American is considering offering a twin-turbo package that will add north of 1,000 horsepower to your 2007-09 Shelby GT500. The package won’t be cheap as its said to cost around $100,000 not including the GT500. When finished your GT500 would feature a twin-turbo 5.4-liter V-8 pumping out 1,000 rwhp with adjustable boost.
Other upgrades included in the twin-turbo package include a widebody option, Shelby custom exhaust, 10-point roll cage, Baer brakes, 9-inch Ford rearend, 20-inch Alcoa wheels, 6-speed paddle shifter, two-tone leather seats, kicker audio system and carbon fiber accents.
