The 2011 Ford Mustang will be a carry over model from the refreshed version in 2010 with a few signifigant changes taking place under the hood. New engine choices for the 2011 Mustang include a new 400-425  horsepower 5.0-liter motor and a new Duratec 3.7-liter V-6 engine which will replace the 4.0-liter V-6 the Mustang has used for several years. The upgrades in the engine department for the 2011 Mustang were needed to meet the demand of their competitors who have signifigantly more horsepower in their V-8 and V-6 engines.

The new Duratec 3.7-liter will be very similar to the 2010 Lincoln MKS 3.5-liter V-6 engine which produces 263 horsepower.

“5.0″ Fender Badge Returns
The “5.0″ fender badge returns for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. Introduced in 1979 the “5.0″ fender badge was used to emphasize the 5-liter 302 cubic-inch Ford small block V-8 under the hood. The “5.0″ badge was a mainstay on fox-body Mustangs until 1993. The fender badge will be reborn for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT in some sort of capacity which is not know at this time.
