Former SVT boss John Coletti heading up green-car Startup EcoMotors

Former engineer and program director of Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) John Coletti use to bleed Ford blue but now bleed’s green as the president and CEO of new green-car startup EcoMotors. 

Coletti had a long and storied career while at Ford Motor Company with the last ten years being his most gratifying.  In the early 1990’s Coletti is credited with saving the rear wheel drive Mustang platform when cost cutting measures nearly derailed it.  He was also the leader of the original skunkworks team that developed the 1994 Mustang program which injected new life into the Pony car.  Under his leadership such vehicles as the SVT Focus, SVT Contour, Ford F-150 Lightning and the SVT “Terminator” Cobra thrived. … Continue Reading

Ford Racing Boss 302 Intake Manifold coming for 2011 Mustang GT

One-of-a-Kind Grabber Blue Mustang Boss 302 fetches $450,000 at Barrett-Jackson

It was an exciting night at the 40th Anniversary of the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction with the one-of-a-kind Grabber Blue 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition fetching $450,000.  Two bidders went back and forth as the price climbed over $400K but in the end the final bid of $450K won the unique Grabber Blue Boss 302.  All proceeds above the MSRP of the vehicle will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Taking part in this truly unique auction were the likes of autosports legend Parnelli Jones, President of the Americas Mark Fields, Mustang Chief engineer Dave Pericak, Rock legend Brett Michales, Former wrestler … Continue Reading

2012 Mustang Cobra Jet Production Begins, Ford Racing shares Photos

We have already been treated to the official details on the 2012 Mustang Cobra Jet and now Ford Racing has shared some early production photos. 

The new 2012 Cobra Jet will receive a revised 5.4L V-8 supercharged engine with its now standard aluminum block pumping out 430 horsepower.  The factory built race car will be serialized for collectability and limited to just 50 units for 2012 with just three color choices – Race Red, Grabber Blue and Winner White. … Continue Reading
