The 2012 Barrett-Jackson collector car auction is right around the corner and just like previous years Ford Motor Company and Carroll Shelby seem to be teaming up again for another high profile auction.  Browsing through the auction list we came upon a listing for Lot# 3043 which happens to be a 2013 Shelby GT500.  In the listing it does not give any specific information or a VIN but it does say it will be a “special 2013 Shelby GT500″ whatever that means and all proceeds will benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).  We can only assume it will be for VIN #001 like previous years.  In any case the auction is set for Saturday January 21, 2012.

In the past Carroll Shelby and Ford Motor Company have partnered to auction off many vehicles for charity including the first 2007 Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT that both sold for $600,000 each.  Other vehicles include the first 2008 Shelby GT500KR which sold for $550,000 and the first 2010 Shelby GT500 which went for $150,000.
