A new Ford Mustang book has been made available for pre-order from Amazon.com, ‘Boss Mustang: The Return of the Baddest Mustang of All Time’. The 160 page hardcover book published by Motorbooks is dedicated to the return of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 which Ford resurrected for a second go around. Not many details have been released about the book but we do know the author is Donald Farr, longtime Mustang Monthly Magazine staff member and author of Mustang Boss 302: Ford’s Trans-Am Ponycar along with co-writing How to Restore Your Mustang with Mustang Monthly founder Larry Dobbs. The book can be pre-ordered at Amazon.com for $19.80 and should be shipping sometime in late August.

The Boss 302 appears to be a great model, except for two caveats that will keep many of them off the streets. First, the limited production run will inflate the price and limit availability. Second, many 18-40 year olds will be ashamed to be seen driving in the available color schemes, which will favor older collectors buying and storing cars for future auctions. I hope someday Ford will see fit to offer a ‘stealth’ Boss 302 for those of us who like to drive cars with speed but without gaudy paint.
I love mustangs. My first car was a 1970 Fastback and I’m lucky I didn’t have a higher HP on it like the Boss 302. I like the colors that are available, and would likely ruin my no speeding tickets record with one.

In the books description details are given about how long the Boss 302 will be produced and how many will be built .For the 2012 model year Ford is at long last reviving the most revered of all Mustang models. As with the first iteration the new Boss Mustang will be built for two model years only and just 4 000 cars will be produced each year 3 500 street cars and 500 R race cars..If this is to believed only 8000 Boss 302 Mustangs will be built for 2012 and 2013 1000 of those being R models.
