One-off 2013 Roush Stage 3 Mustang to be auctioned for SAE Foundation

Ford Motor Company, Roush and Ford Racing have teamed up to auction a one-of-a-kind 2013 Roush Stage 3 Mustang on May 16th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan to benefit the SAE Foundation STEM education programs.

Shelby 1000 Production begins at Shelby American in Las Vegas

The debut of the 2012 Shelby 1000 based off the 2012 Shelby GT500 took place less than a month ago at the New York Auto Show and now production has officially begun at Shelby American’s speed shop in Las Vegas.  The first batch of vehicles being built at the facility are actually the Shelby 1000 S/C track versions which pump out over 1,100 horsepower.  The base Shelby 1000’s are reported to crank out around 950 horsepower and start at $149,995 not including the GT500.  Check out the build photos below. … Continue Reading

Mustangs Across America Cancels 50th Anniversary Event for now

The folks who run the Mustangs Across America event are furious about the Mustang Club of America’s decision to hold two simultaneous events for the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang. 50th Anniversary celebration plans announced by Mustang Club of America

The Ford Mustang will be turning 50 in 2014 and the Mustang Club of America plans a celebration like no other that includes two events being held simultaneously in two different locations across the country.  The 50th Anniversary celebration is planned for April 16-20, 2014 with one event taking place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada and the other at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.  Both events will take place at the same time to allow as many Mustang enthusiasts to enjoy the festivities as possible. … Continue Reading

Kenny Brown building track racing ‘Super Mustang’ for the masses

Kenny Brown, race car builder and supplier of aftermarket Mustang parts stands next to his latest creation, a ‘Super Mustang’ of sorts that is slated for a limited production run.  Kenny recently gave a sneak peak to StangTV who posted several photos of the track themed ‘Super Mustang’.

In the photos below you can clearly see the Mustang has track racing in its future with a set of large Baer brakes wtih 14-inch rotors and six-piston calipers, full roll cage, heat extractor hood and large functional rear spoiler.  Under the hood you can see a Boss 302 intake mated to a new 5.0-liter engine and expect to see full suspension and handling goodies courtesy of Kenny Brown. … Continue Reading

Reckless female driver destroys Shelby GT500 and miraculously survives

We hate to see vehicle carnage like this but its not everyday you get to see a Shelby GT500 totally destroyed by a maniac driver hitting a concrete bridge support.  The female driver of the 2008 Shelby GT500 was clearly driving to fast for the conditions as she tried to avoid on-coming traffic only to lose control, spin-out and hit the concrete bridge support head-on.  Parts were sent flying including the 5.4-liter V8 engine that ended up in on-coming traffic which was hit by another car.  One of the doors, a wheel and part of the frame landed a good 30 yards away. … Continue Reading

Video: ProCharged 2012 Boss 302 puts down 640 rwhp on dyno

Having been in the supercharger game a long time ProCharger knows a thing or two about Mustangs and when the new Boss 302 came along with its 444 horsepower they probably began to salivate.  With only a set of Kooks long-tube headers and pump gas ProCharger strapped on one of their signature intercooled Supercharger setups.  When it was all said and done the 2012 Boss 302 put down 640 rear wheel horsepower running only 7.5 psi of boost.  Check out the video below. … Continue Reading
