SEMA 2012: Mothers Mustang RTR Spec 3 debuts in Ford display

Vaughn Gittin Jr unleashed the Mothers Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3 which was a collaboration between Vaughn’s Mustang RTR brand and the team at Mothers Polishes-Waxes-Cleaners. This highly anticipated project made its debut at the SEMA Show today in the Ford display in Central Hall.  The Mustang RTR Spec 3 is based on the 2013 Mustang GT and features a host of upgrades including a Ford Racing supercharger, RTR carbon fiber body parts, HRE wheels, BASF paint with Falken rubber and a Reus audio system.

Ford Racing unveils new Cobra Jet Twin-Turbo Concept at SEMA show

Ford Racing puts all the rumors and guessing to bed as they unveil a new Mustang Cobra Jet Twin-Turbo concept at this years SEMA show.  In an ever changing automotive world the engineers at Ford Racing have continually improved and evolved the Cobra Jet to keep it one step ahead of its competition and this time is no different.

The new twin-turbo Cobra Jet concept utilizes a pair of low inertia turbochargers adapted from the Focus ST which are than added to the 5.0-liter V8 in the quest to keep the Cobra Jet the most successful production-class drag racer available. The technology is derived from the award-winning EcoBoost engines which can be found spread across Ford’s lineup of vehicles.

SEMA 2012: Carroll Shelby Tribute display taking shape

The late Carroll Shelby will be honored at this years SEMA show with a special display in the North Hall.  SEMA and Ford made this tribute a reality for a long-time Ford friend and partner as his legacy will be linked to Ford Motor Company forever.  The 10-car tribute display will feature a Shelby GT500 Super Snake, classic Shelby GT350, Shelby 1000 and 2013 Shelby GT350 models.

SEMA 2012: Ford Racing ready to unveil EcoBoost Mustang?

Ford Racing has teased us with four photos of the new Mustang they are set to unveil Tuesday at the SEMA show and now we play the waiting game.  Under the checkered car cover you see above lies the latest and greatest from Ford Racing.  Many have speculated its an EcoBoost Mustang concept of sorts but nobody knows for sure except the folks at Ford Racing.

SEMA 2012: Keep your eyes peeled for mid-engine Mustang Mach40 pumping out 850 horsepower

Here’s another custom Mustang making the trip to SEMA dubbed the ‘Mustang Mach40′, a mid-engine combination of a Mach 1 and a GT40.  It’s built by Eckert’s Rod Shop who wanted to combine modern Ford technology with the body of a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang.

The modern Ford technology comes in the form of a 5.4-liter dual overhead cam GT super car motor with an upgraded 4 liter Whipple supercharger.  The engine uses a drive by wire throttle along with a system to dial in the number of horsepower from 600-850.  The motor has also been converted to run a flex-fuel system. … Continue Reading

Pure Vision goes old school with their latest build, the 1966 Martini T-5R Mustang which will debut in Las Vegas at the SEMA show in few days time.  The T-5R Martini Mustang features an all-aluminum 300 c.i. Ford reveals lineup of customized 2013 Mustangs for SEMA show

The annual SEMA is upon us in a little under a weeks time and you know what that means, boat loads of customized Mustangs with Ford leading the way.  This year Ford will feature 2013 Mustangs customized by the Ringbrothers, Mothers, Autosport Dynamics, RTR, DSO Eyewear, Stitchcraft, 3dCarbon and M2-Motoring.

Is Ford teasing a Special Edition 2013 Mustang for the SEMA show?

Over on Ford’s Facebook page they have posted up a teaser photo of what looks to be a 2013 Mustang GT hood with the caption “We’ve got big news at SEMA, Ford fans. What do you think it is?”

Its obviously a 2013 Mustang GT or Boss 302 hood but the black racing stripe with a blue and silver accent stripe have us wondering if Ford will be introducing a Special Edition Mustang at the SEMA show.  Maybe an EcoBoost Mustang or a tribute car for Carroll Shelby.  What do you think?  Let us know what your prediction is in the comments. … Continue Reading

New 2015 Mustang rendering by Car and Driver has the Evos Concept look

What may look like a Nissan Z or a Hyundai Tiburon is actually what Car and Driver thinks the all-new 2015 Mustang will look like once its unveiled to the public.  The latest rendering of the 2015 Mustang comes to us from famed automotive illustrator Jon Sibal who has already done a 2015 Mustang rendering but this one has been touched up a bit for Car and Driver with the Evos Concept look.
