Top Five Ford Mustang Wrecks of 2012

All this week I will be posting about the year in review and the first one is about the most popular Ford Mustang wrecks of 2012.  During the year we had several bone headed Mustang drivers crash their Boss 302’s, Shelby GT500’s and even one drag racer crash a $90K+ 2013 Cobra Jet.  Most of these crashes are unforeseen accidents while others are pure stupidity but in the end we are glad the drivers made made it out to drive again another day.

Our top crash of the year involves a fox-body Mustang flying 70 feet through the air only to hit a brick wall and it was all captured on video and through a series of photos.  Its one of the most insane crashes I have ever seen and the driver came out with little to no injuries thanks to his safety equipment.  Check out the complete list of five Mustang wrecks below. … Continue Reading

Ford to produce Shelby GT350 alongside Shelby GT500 as 2015 model

Rumors of Ford producing a Shelby GT350 for the 2015 model year have been swirling around for weeks and we may have been tipped off to its validity by a person in the know.  According to well respected Shelby enthusiast and collector Stephan Becker the rumors of Ford producing a 2015 Shelby GT350 are 100% true, as he confirmed in a recent comment posted over on Team Shelby’s forum.

Barrett-Jackson to auction lowest mileage 1967 Shelby GT500 in the world

In January at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona one of the rarest Shelby Mustangs in the world will go to the highest bidder.  Its one of the lowest mileage original 1967 Shelby GT500’s in the world with only 9,841 miles on the odometer.  The ‘67 Shelby is owned by Stephen Becker, president and CEO of Planet Cobra.

Becker obtained the rare Shelby when original owner Edward Milkos decided to trade the vehicle in after it sat stored in his basement for 30 years.  Milkos traded the Nightmist Blue Shelby GT500 in on a late-model jaguar. … Continue Reading

Shelby unveils Widebody kit for 2005-2009 Mustangs, 2010+ Coming Soon!

Shelby American has announced its plans for 2013 and according to them its going to be an exciting time with lots of new things coming down the pipeline.  First of those is a new Widebody kit for all 2005-2009 Ford Mustangs including the V6, GT and Shelby GT500 models.  The widebody kit will add around 6-inches of tire space to the rear of the car and 3-inches of tire space to the front.  The widebody panels will be constructed of high-quality fiberglass to keep the weight down. … Continue Reading

Video: 2013 Shelby GT500 drags Mercedes C63 AMG coupe

Its a battle of over 1,100 horsepower as British Supercar magazine Evo somehow managed to secure the only 2013 Shelby GT500 in Europe to put it up against Mercedes’ C63 AMG coupe.  Comparing both vehicles, the Shelby GT500’s is powered by a 662 horsepower supercharged V8 as the C63 AMG coupe is powered by a naturally aspirated 451 horsepower 6.3-liter V8.

2013 Shelby GT500’s 5.8-liter Supercharged V8 makes Ward’s 10 Best Engines list

For the third straight year a Ford Mustang engine has made Wards Auto 10 Best Engines list with this years winner being the 662 horsepower 5.8-liter supercharged V8 found in the 2013 Shelby GT500. The win was made even more special as it was the only V8 selected to the list this year.
