January 2014 Ford Mustang Sales impacted by weather but still post gains

February 4, 2014 Mustang News No Comments

Ford Motor Company released its January Ford Mustang sales numbers and for the most part the news was positive. Harsh Winter weather conditions across much of the country for January held down numbers company wide with a few exceptions, one being the Mustang and the other being Lincoln’s 43 percent increase over last years start.

The month of January is typically bad for the auto industry as most people are recovering from Christmas spending plus the cold Winter weather keeps folks  inside and away from dealer lots.

The only bright spot for Mustang sales was an increase of 8 percent over the previous year although total units sold were down considerably from the previous month. The beginning of 2014 marks the best since 2010 and its not saying much when you see the numbers below. … Continue Reading

Ford Mustang sales for the month of December have been tallied with year-over-year and month-to-month sales increasing telling us the current generation of Mustang model is still selling quite well. It’s hard to believe with the wintry weather across the country we had more Mustang sales in December than November but Ford did. As for yearly totals the Camaro edged out the Mustang with just over 3,300 more units sold.

As we learned in early December the 2015 Mustang will not be available to around September of this year so to quench Mustang buyers thirst Ford will have to keep dealers stocked with 2014 models. Expect to see heavy incentives and offers up until the 2015 Mustangs hit dealer lots later this year. Keep reading for a complete breakdown on December Mustang sales. … Continue Reading

With the reveal of the 2015 Mustang we completely forgot to do our monthly post about Mustang sales. I know this is not the most exciting read on the planet so I will make it brief. Mustang sales dropped just over 1,500 units from the previous month of October but they somehow managed to beat out Chevrolet’s Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.

As more and more folks catch a glimpse of the 2015 Mustang my guess is most will hold off on purchasing unless they have to have a Mustang. Expect Mustang sales to dip lower and flatten out until the all-new Mustang makes its way to dealers late in the Summer of 2014. Keep reading to see the complete breakdown of November Mustang sales. … Continue Reading
