Sixt and Shelby Partnering to build limited-edition Shelby GT-S Mustang rent-a-racer

Shelby American has teamed up with Sixt rent a car company to build 21 limited-edition Supercharged Shelby GT-S Mustangs. The Sixt limited-edition 2019 Ford Shelby GT-S Mustang will feature a 600+ horsepower supercharged 5.0L V8 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. 2018 Ford Mustang Delivers Design, Technology and Performance Upgrades

The 2018 Ford Mustang improves upon the latest platform with a sleeker design, more advanced technology and improved performance. A host of new standard features are available including all-new LED lights at all four-corners, upgraded manual transmissions, new suspension components for all models and new color choices Orange Fury and Royal Crimson.

The 3.7-liter V6 engine choice has been phased out for the 2018 Mustang model. Both the 5.0 V8 and the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder will receive horsepower and torque bumps. A new 10-speed automatic transmission is optional for the Mustang GT and EcoBoost four-cylinder.

Ford ‘Ole Yeller’ Mustang pays homage to famous North American P-51D Mustang

Ford and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) have teamed up for the ninth straight year to auction off a custom one-off Mustang at the Gathering of Eagles charity event. This year the Mustang is dubbed ‘Ole Yeller’ which pays homage to the famous North American P-51D Mustang aircraft.

The Ford ‘Ole Yeller’ Mustang is based off the GT350 which features the 5.2L Ti-VCT V8 engine with Flat Plane Crank producing 526 horsepower. Check below for more photos and details. … Continue Reading

Shelby American Museum Photos

On a recent trip to Las Vegas I had the pleasure of visiting the new Shelby American facility at the South end of the Las Vegas strip. I have been to Las Vegas many times but I never had the chance to visit the old location so I thought why not check out the new museum and all its contents.

April 2016 Ford Mustang Sales Stay Strong

Ford Mustang sales for April stayed strong with a slight decrease from March’s numbers. Nothing to be alarmed about as sales remained in five-figures for the second straight month.

Sales of the Ford Mustang for April of 2016 were 12,726 compared to 13,144 from April of 2015 showing a 3.2% decrease in sales from the previous year. Year to date Mustang sales are 42,862 compared to 42,965 for 2015, which is a 0.2% decrease from the previous year. … Continue Reading

2014 Mustang GT Burns to a Crisp At Royal Purple Raceway

At the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, TX last week a 2014 Mustang GT burst into flames just before it was set to race. The cause seems to have been a faulty Nitrous line that burst and created a small engine fire. High winds at the track didn’t help as emergency personnel tried to extinguish the fire to no avail.

Ford Shelby Hertz GT350-H “Rent-A-Racer” is Back!

Shelby American, Hertz and Ford Motor Company are teaming up again to launch a 50th Anniversary Edition Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang. The 2016 Ford Shelby Hertz GT350-H is a limited edition throwback to the historic “Rent-A-Racer” program launched in the 1960’s. This will be the third time a GT-H “Rent-A-Racer” Mustang will be produced (1966, 2006, 2016). This time around 140 units of the 2016 Shelby GT-H will be produced and available through the Hertz Adrenaline Collection at select airport locations in the US.

2015-16 Shelby Terlingua Racing Team Mustang Revealed

The Terlingua name is back at Shelby American and this time it means business as a limited-edition Supercharged Mustang GT. Honoring automotive legends such as Carroll Shelby, Bill Neale and Jerry Titus who were the three original Terlingua racing team members. The new Terlingua Racing Team Mustang will be based off the 2015-16 Mustang GT platform with a starting price of $65,999 not including the base Mustang GT.
