Mustang ‘50 Years’ Merchandise Collection hits the Web

Recently Ford Motor Company launched a campaign to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang by unveiling the ‘50 Years’ pony logo.  The special logo will be licensed to 50 companies across the country who will plaster it on everything from shirts to toy cars to promote the Mustang’s 50th anniversary.

One of the 50 companies (Chamberlain Marketing Group) has already posted five items for sale bearing the ‘50 Years’ pony logo.  The items include two black tee shirts, black ball cap, water bottle and an expensive limited edition watch.  All items can be ordered now through their website but they won’t ship until October.  Check out the photos below with descriptions and prices. … Continue Reading

The weather may have been chilly across the county for most of March but Ford Mustang sales have started to heat up with an increase of 28% over February sales.  Demand for the 2014 Mustang models seems to be strong given the healthy uptick in month-t0-month sales.  April sales numbers should be a good indication of how the coming months will fare as more and more 2014 models hit dealer lots.

There is nothing better than a smoke-filled Mustang burnout but when you push your pony to the limits it will let you know as this owner found out the hard way.  After an initial burnout the driver attempts a second and quickly finds out something is wrong or does he.

As the driver is revving his engine and driving away the explosion happens sending parts and metal all over the road behind his vehicle.  The culprit of the explosion is said to be the clutch/bell housing area of the car.

50th Anniversary Mustang Logo Revealed with plans for Licensed Merchandise

Ford has begun the countdown to the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang by revealing the official logo which commemorates the 50 years the Mustang has been in continuous production.  The winning logo was created by Ford designer Michael Thomson after an internal competition.  The simple and clean 50th anniversary logo features the Mustang’s trademark galloping pony in silhouette over the “50 YEARS” words.

As part of the 50th anniversary milestone Ford has selected a group of 50 licensees to produce merchandise including watches, shirts, die-cast models, video games, toy cars and jackets with the “50 YEARS” pony logo. 1,200 horsepower 2013 Shelby 1000 to debut at New York Auto Show

Ahead of next weeks New York Auto Show, Shelby American has announced they will unveil a new 2013 Shelby 1000 S/C track version with a mind boggling 1,200 horsepower under the hood.  The new Shelby 1000 S/C track version is based on Ford’s current Shelby GT500 platform using the 662 horsepower 5.8L V8 power plant as a starting point.

Creating such a beast is not an easy task as SA tears down the 5.8L V8 engine and strengthens the internals, adds a massive supercharger,  adds an adjustable suspension with launch control, bigger brakes and a performance cooling package to build one of the world’s most powerful production cars. … Continue Reading
