Current star of the Australian based V8 Supercar series Mark ‘Frosty’ Winterbottom recently got the opportunity to cruise the new Circuit of the Americas F1 track in a 2013 Mustang GT. Frosty drove the 5.0 Mustang through the back part of the race course motoring through turns 5-12 getting squirly at times. The F1 track is currently under construction with the base road layed so Frosty took advantage and put the Mustang GT through its paces.

The first CARS animated movie from Pixar debuted in 2006 featuring just about every other make and model car except a Ford Mustang. This time around the sequel, CARS 2 will feature a 1964 1/2 Mustang voiced by famous sportscastor Brent Musburger. His character name will be ‘Brent Mustangburger’ and he will play an announcer of sorts for this highly popular animated movie. CARS 2 is set to hit theaters on June 24th. Note to self, never take your friends fathers Shelby GT500 out for a spin without his knowledge. The story goes, the dude driving the car is a 19 year-old kid who does yard work and washes his friends fathers vehicles who spends most of his time out of town. Somehow the kid broke into the garage and obtained the keys to the Shelby GT500 which only had 1300 miles on it. He than took it out for a night of street racing and cruising around with some friends
Its a tough way to get your 15 minutes of fame but Drew Beaumier of Fountain Valley, California did just that as he threw together a homemade Mustang Transformer costume to audition for American Idol. Drew got creative as he pieced together a Ford Mustang power wheels to create his one-off Mustang Transformer. The Idol judges which include Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez were in awe of Drew’s costume but in the end his “Born To Be Wild” serenade did not work out. Rob Kinnan from Hot Rod Magazine and Gary Patterson from Shelby American ran each Shelby vehicle through a road course and down the dragstrip to see which vehicle comes out on top.
