What are your thoughts of the same thing happening to the Mustang that happend to the LS1 Camaro and Firebird?

Do you think it is possible?

I don't believe it will happen in the near future. Mustang is to hot a seller for Ford. However, a few years back, they did toss around the idea of a front wheel drive Mustang :eek: but I believe the Mustang enthusiast rallied and changed FoMoCo's mind. Lets hope that never arises again.

Ford did consider a FWD Stang in the late 80s. Mustang fans protested too strongly and Ford instead called their FWD car the Probe

(IMO) I would say , considering that the Mustang was outselling Camaro and Firebird "combined" by approximately 2:1*, I don't think Ford will kill of the Mustang just yet. (Even though as Jeff and Hwyman mentioned they almost did back in the late 80s).

* 2:1 was a ratio I read in an article somewhere , cannot remember where. So I cannot guarantee its validity.
