What kind of tire pressure do you guys run. I am a little confused on this. I have 17inch wheels 245 45 on a 97 cobra. let me know.

It depends on what your doing. When i took my car to an autocross, I filled them to about 37, but when drag the thing I put them at about 26-28.

For regular street driving I use the vehicle manufacturer recommended pressure as a minimum (30 PSI cold on my 98 GT with 17 inch wheels) and the tire makers maximum cold inflation pressure as the maximum (44 PSI cold for my current tires). Experiment with pressures in between those two and you will be fine. Competition is another matter. I believe the autocross sanctioning body out here in CA requires 40 PSI in street tires but I could be mistaken. The higher pressure keeps you from rolling the tire off the rim during extreme cornering. Drag racing is different still but I wouldn't run excessively low pressures there either if using street tires, maybe 28-30 PSI and stay out of the water in the burn out box!
Note: All the above is based on the assumption you are running radial tires. Bias ply tires are a whole different animal!
