I have a 2000 3.8L Coupe. I just sold some stuff and have 3 thousand to spend on it. I have no idea where to start.

I want to start Bracket Racing 1/8 mile, the only thing real cose, eventually move up to 1/4 mile.

I would like performance and reliability over looks and sound.

EDIT: I have moderate skills when it comes to tearing down and installing. I have no welder but have access to air tools and a mechanic who likes to tinker with engines. I also have access to a full shop on the evenings with a little "greasing with beer" to the owner.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Jack

With 3k for a bracket racer I would start worrying about suspention. That way you will be able to keep your launches the same so you can keep a closer eye on your et. As you hopefully know, you don't need speed for bracket so I would just worry about things that could cause your time to change.

Makes sense to keep the car settled.

So where do I start?

I am going to be doing the wrenching, the wife is going to do the driving.

I figured a few passes stock then modifying so I have a base line.

What type of suspension should I be looking at installing?

This still needs to be street legal.

NOTE: I have been into Offroad 4X4 for the past 15 years, this is all new to me.
