How many miles on your Stang?

I have about 126,000 on my '95 GT. I'm getting to the point of replacing parts that broke instead of modifying and putting toys on. How long will a maintained engine last? The biggest things I've had to replace are the smog pump and clutch. I am leaking some oil where the rear main seal is though. Can't wait to fix that one.

168,000 on mine. everything works great. I also have a 88 f-250 with a 302. It has 190,000 miles all farm work. I still pull heavy equipment around with it.

My 84 that I currently own shows 93xxx on it but it has to be 193xxx - at least on the body. May not be the original motor. Due to the lack of brakes and a wiring problem somewhere it sitting here :mad:

But in the 15 minutes I had it running, it felt very strong for an engine with so many miles.

My 87 had somewhere aroudn 110k when I got rid of it, had the original engine, and ran a 14.11@99 stock. T5 of course.

my stang has 87,000 miles on it and it runs great, but has also suffered some tedious problems. I had to replace the water pump, thermostat, e-brake cable, ball joint, front tie rods, and I have to get a new smog pump also. Is it common for these parts to go with only 87,000 miles? I have only had the car for about 6 months.

My Ex Brother In Law had a 92 GT with Equal Length Headers, Accel Wires, H-pipe, Flowmasters and stock other than that and about a year ago he sold it with 115,000 miles on it and the only problem hes had with it was the 1st week he had it with only a couple of hundred miles (He got it brand new for a grad. present) the clutch went out and the Ford dealership replaced with a H.D. Clutch from FRPP, and he never had another clutch problem or anything halfway major go wrong with it except for Burnt Plug wires due to the headers. It seems like 5.0 and also the majority 4.6's I see run good with high mileage. The main key is making sure you keep it maintanced well, all fluids and tune up areas.

My 89 has around 135k on it & I am in the process of painting it & changing my engine combo again as we speak.

mine has 178,000 valve covers have never been off. T-5 replaced at 167,815 what a car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hauls ass!!!!!

i just sold an 85 t top car with 57k on it... my lx that i have now has about 86k i believe on the car and about 10k on the motor..

I have 189,000 miles on my '91 5.0 Conv.

Its like the Energizer Bunny, Keeps going and going, going, etc.


Runs great and does NOT burn any oil!

I have 115,000 on mine but it is less then that. I have no idea how long it was ran with the 3.73's before i bought it and changed the gear in the tranny.

I have a 95 5.0 @ 187,717 miles.... bought it w/ 8k on it so obviously I DONT drive it anywhere!!!!!!!!! lol Only probs has been alternator and thermostat besides for that I think I picked me up an awesome reliable ride! Plus she's spoiled more than I am so go figure.
