Hi, I am new here, and a new Mustang owner. I have a 2005 6 cylinder, and have a problem with a lag on takeoff from a dead stop. It's as if the transmission and engine take a few seconds to finally decide to go! Once it kicks it's great, but that lag is most annoying, not to mention dangerous when entering heavy traffic. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, since the dealer tells me "that is just how they are".

ok you have a new mustang with elctronic thottle control.
that means there is no throttle cable and ford built a lag into the computer for safety. worked well didnt it. to grt rid of it you need an after market program put into the car. it will change the settings of the car. look in any mustang magazine. but be warned you will need to put the original settings back in the car to have any warrenty work done.

Well that just sucks! Yeah, it's REAAAAAAL safe when you tromp out into traffic and the car just sits there, what genius came up with that? So I guess the dealer is telling me correctly? They ARE all like that? The program you talk about, if they found that on the car would it void my warranty? Thank you so much for your reply and happy Mustanging my new friend!
