My sister has a 2000 Mustang V6, its bone stock with about 50-60,000 miles and it has an automatic. Well I was out 1 day going to the store in it and it BARKED 2cnd everytime I shifted it manually into 2cnd. The car would squat sideways and go brrrrrrrrpppp. It was awesome. But she had some problems with it sputtering so she took it to the dealership and they said her cats were bad so she had them replaced and now it'll still shift hard but ever since it got out the shop it won't Bark or even chirp 2cnd...I was just wandering do most V6 A4 Stangs chirp or bark 2cnd?

Mine's a five-speed, but I got mine to bark in third. I about fell over.:p I don't know about the automatics though.

You can't get a 6 cyl automatic to spin the tires, unless the road is wet of course. I'd say it was your imagination, mine's a 5 speed and mine barly spins into second and thats getting on it hard and there is a big difference between auto and 5speed

WEll CodyE I guess it wasn't his imagination cause I was in the car with him. And guess what the roads weren't even wet Imagine that. Maybe you should not doubt other people so much. You should be able to make your car bark 2nd if you learn how to drive it like you stole it.

Well spickett, I know how to drive my car, don't critisize me , I wasn't tryin to pick a fight, I just can't imagine how a automatic 6cyl, could bark the tires into second , maybe a shift kit , your right I wasn't there , but I hope you feel cool now saying I can't drive, because I think your a badass now. You told me

I never said you didn't know how to drive your car did I? I was just saying alittle more agression should help light those tires up. And I never criticized you either. I was just setting the record straight, because if you remember you said that it couldn't be done... that sounds like criticism....but in all actuality it did happen. And I didnt feel any cooler after I wrote a reply to yur post. And as for me being a bada$$, I'm not, I'm just a normal guy. Sorry if I made you feel such animocity towards me.

Also your car I believe is pre-1999 which has slightly less horse power. This is accomplished through the newer split port head design and a new intake manifold design. This might be attributable for the automatic being able to catch the tires when shifting into 2nd.

Have a nice day :D

Glad to see that you aren't just some punk who likes to run his mouth. Now that everything is cleared up we can actually share info instead of criticism.
As for power figures I am pretty sure the 99 up cars have around 190 hp. I'll post again as soon as I find out more.

p.s. I drove my girlfriends 01 V6 auto the other day and this time I decided I would really get on it. To say the least I was very surprised:eek: !

Really? The new ones run that good?
I would like to get my car up to around 200 210 horsepower, what should I do to it?

I believe you about the car barking in 2nd gear man, my buddy has a 1983 Mercades Diesel that is deathly slow, but 2nd gear shifts so hard automatically, that it barks them at even half throttle.....kinda funny. Oh and CodyE, if your 5spd doesn't bark 2nd, then you prolly need a new clutch, because every stick I have ever driven I have gotten 2nd gear to break loose the tires including a 1986 stock 2.3 N/A hatch, and my 1989 Ford Festiva, both have terrible clutches, and are gutless, but powershifting is great and you should be able to do it man!!

I had a 94 stang that barked and squated when it hit second. The gear band is tighter. ( They had to make it fun some how!)
