Thanks for the compliment, You think it will look good with calypso green mirrors, a Cobra R hood and my Cobra R wheels?
FalconGTHO
02-15-03, 08:48 PM
Yw.
If they are the five star Cobra wheels yes. Those are just a kick azz wheel no matter what, esp in chrome. Cant say anything about the mirrors. If the hood is a cowl hood, no. I cant stand cowl hoods. I dont remember what the R hood looks like.
Back when my ride was black.

Thanks for the compliment on the coupe. The black stang in the background of the coupe pic is the black GT in my first pic, I have it tore down so I can repaint it Corvette G/S blue with silver ghost flames. The white stang is just a parts car.

It's an 86 & it is in very good shape & it does run but it has a dying problem that I cannot figure out. Sometimes it runs sometimes it doesnt. LOL

oh man that merkur is sweet!! is it a stick or auto?
have you ever checked out www.turboford.org? Tons of guys there drive and modify XR4's and help with problems.
Is the car stock or have you modded it? These engines are very easy to add 50+ horsepower too almost for free.
You don't by anychance want too sell it do you?

Its an auto dammit.:( I have checked out everything on the car & ran code scan after code scan & replaced a **** load of parts but it still does the same thing. I finally said screw it so I parked it to to work on it when I had time. It is bone stock & never had anything done to it.
I might consider selling it if the price was right but I dont really want to because I am buying a 85 SVO from a buddie that needs an engine & I had planned on using the one form the XR. Make an offer though & will consider it.

Does it use a TFI ignition? If so, does it die after its heat soaked? If so, the TFI is your problem almost certainly.

Damn, that does suck that it is an auto, I want a 5-spd. If your TFI is not the dying problem, you might check for vacuum leaks at the tree, injector o-rings, and intake track gaskets. Hope you figure it out.

I have checked all of that & replaced the TFI module. I have also replaced both fuel pumps & sock, f/p regulator, filter, pick up coil, cap & rotor & wires. When it screws up it loses f/p so that is why I focused on the fuel system but it is still screwed up. O well I will figure it out when I have time. Or drop a carbed 5.0 & C4 in it. :)

Because not everyone likes green. Ford used it as an advertising ploy. They sold all of their Bullitt stock a few months before the 2001 sales year ended so they didn't do too bad.
FalconGTHO
02-20-03, 02:02 AM
Yep, they sure did. They couldve sold even more. Still, I bet all of them wouldve sold even if they were all green. Bullitt drove a green one so a special edition shouldve been just green.
Meh, I don't know about all that. Myself, though the green is provocative, and I tailed on for three hours while on my way to Ennis to the FFW finale last year, I still think the Blue is sexier.
It would've been funny to actually have had a 'silver' bullitt. :D
But as always, Blue > green.

I hope you are joking!! The 2.3T will kick a 5.0's ass in that car, good weight distribution and handling with that IRS rear.
Don't give up on it and remember the guys at www.turboford.org would be glad to help you out and have you as a member.

Yes, blue IS better than green and I never thought of a "silver Bullitt" edition.
MRigney
02-20-03, 04:00 AM
Well I love the blue but you gotta get a green one to feel like the real deal. Green or blue, they both look good. I don't know what ford was thinking when they made a black one.
I think the silver would have been to corny. The silver bullett is a beer slogan. Maybe they didn't want to assocciate them selves with beer. Just a thought.
Here is a pic I took at fun ford weekend in Ennis,Texas.

No I am not joking, I need the engine for the SVO I am buying. If If I had a extra 2.3 turbo laying around I would leave it in the XR, but I dont so that is why I am sticking a 5.0 in it probably.;)

Hey Los......
Where you with that big group of Bullitts that were at FFW in Ennis? MRigney posted the pic he took. Did your Bullitt make it in the pics?
With the MM&FF banner? Which one???
I'm in the one with the 50+ bullitts taken from the top of the stands. I'm the one with a white thingy on the windshield.
If its the FFW in the March edition of MM&FF, then I'm the far back, in the orange shirt next to the car with the spoiler.
I lucked out and got to be in the pic cause my best friend and I were about to leave and I had just gotten done swapping the tires out.

I love blue, however Im not fond of True Blue, its too dark. I kinda like Sonic Blue, but it looks much more purple than blue. A few years ago Ford had a KICK AZZ blue. It was a meduim metallic. Not as light as Corvette blue nor as dark as Viper blue, both of which are kick azz shades of blue.
The colors I loved from Ford are:
Laser Red,
True Blue,
Dark Pacific Blue,
and Canary Yellow.
That Zinc Yellow is just nasty.
FalconGTHO
02-21-03, 12:15 AM
I hate red unless its on a Ferrari. The current yellow is ok but its too pale, like egg yolk/ THe yellow used back in the early 90s kicked azz. Anyway, I go shopping for a GT in a month or so. At the top of the list is yellow, second is Sonic Blue, third is black, fourth is Mineral Grey, fifth is white.
Whats Dark Pacific Blue look like?
Ohh and I WISH the Mach 1 blue was offered on the rest of the lineup. THAT is a kick ass blue.
Azure blue looks like that baby color stuff. Ick.

I LIKE it. Its reminiscent of Grabber Blue which was the BEST non metallic blue ever put on a domestic car.
Where have I heard that name before...
