Hello all,
I?m new to the form, I need to ask if anyone else has a 01 cobra and wears the front tires out on the outside and the rear on the inside. There are ~83K miles and I'm the original owner. I have had a few places check and adjust the alignment but ~ 10K miles later the same wear pattern. To get more life out of my tires I swapped the tires side to side, yes I paid someone to change the tires from one side of the car to the other. Now I have talked to a few local shops and they have said I need ~ $2500 worth of parts/labor to repair. If I could convince my wife I would just sell it and get a 03/04 cobra.
The parts they recommend are new springs, struts, bushings, camber caster plates, bump steer kits (front and back?). Has anyone seen the same issues I have and if so, is it worth the money to fix? Will the car handle like I spent that much? My plans are if it does fix the wear and tracking I may supper charge it.
Regards,
Chris
