Hey guys,

I want to up-grade the OEM suspension on my 1997 COBRA convertible. I have heard that the spring rate specifications are different between the coupe and the convertible? is this true!!!

The car currently sucks on the road....the rear end fish tales on any bumps at high speed as well as it bounces very easily?.

Currently, the car is stock (engine and chassis) I would like to do some modification for hard street driving with occasional track driving. I would also like to drop the car....I understand that I may have to sacrifice the comfort driving to enable good sport driving?..but ideally if I can get both at the same time?it would be great!!!

Therefore, I am not so sure which shocks/springs combination I should be using....suggestions anybody!!??

Also... what about sub-frame connectors...is it worth it??

Cheers:D

Subframes on a convertable??? Definately get the subframes. You will notice a difference immediately. Also consider upper and lower control arms. This will definately tighten everything up in the back.

you cant go wrong with the eibach pro kit. to help retain a softer ride I recommend tokico 5 way shocks and struts. caster camber plates are a must. take a look at my list of mods. i am suspensionally pleased with my combination.

The Bullitt springs and shocks are pretty stout.

Bilsteins
H&R supersports
Maximum Motorsports subframes
Maximum Motorsports C/C plates
and an alignment from a shop that knows what they are doing.

noel, to answer your email it will lower it an 1.5". if you go any lower you will get into some tire issues, but there are ways around that.
