I just moved 8 hours away from home and now those 4.10 gears don't sound like such a good idea after all! My car's a '91 LX w/ an AOD (don't give me crap about it either, it's my baby:p). What's the best choice for long highway cruises that will still give me some nice feelings around town and at the track? It's also got a Mac cold-air kit, Mac long tubes, custom off road H-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chambers, NOS nitrous, MSD coil, FRPP plug wires, Accel cap+rotor, 3 core rad., flex fan, and those 4.10 gears, amongst other little pieces. It's still obviously mostly stock, hence the gears. Any ideas?

Keep the 4.10's and buy another Mustang :D Seriously... I have 4.10s and dont have a problem on the highway. As long as you keep it at 70, the MPG shouldnt really be affected much. You may want to look into an aluminum driveshaft if you keep the gears though. If you change out the gears, you may regret it the future when you need them at a track.

I would stick with putting the 410's in an AOD car if it were me. But 355's would be a waste of time IMO
