this must not be a common problem since no one else seems to be asking it but how do i reinstall the lift springs in the trunk hinges of my 67 coupe.? i took them out a year or so ago to restore the car and the only way i can figure to put them in will not hold the trunk open. they are the origional springs ,they worked before and i did not add anything to the lid so i am sure they are correct

I wish I had a good answer for you on that one, but I truly don't know. I would call Dallas Mustang at 1-800-MUSTANG because they have a large inventory of pre '79 resto parts. Someone there may be able to help you.

it's ok i figured it out. a combination of brute strength-judicious manipulation and a very good pair of vise grips did the trick. thanx anyhow

You're the man, cowboy. Show them springs who is boss!

That's a good combination for, "OUCH, my arm just got torn off!" When my e-brake spring popped loose, I had to re-spring it and put it back under pressure. No fun. I knew at any second the whole thing would fly off and rip a hole in my body.
