Hey Everyone! What's up?N/M/H. Just thinking about Car talk, all the technical stuff. I am a girl and I know nothing about mustangs except for what I can see from the outside. I can identify the colors and some of the years but when I see a guy with a mustang I go to talk to him and all I can say is oh nice 99 Zinc Yellow Gt and thats that. Not only does it make me look pathetic it ruins any chance at all of getting any closer to the driver's seat. Anyone willing to give me Car talk lessons?

Start asking questions and we'll start answering them.

That would be a good idea if I knew where to start. I am so far behind I don't even know how to ask questions.

I Didn't think I was that young. Old enough to drive and thats old enough for me.

I never saw the Fast and the Furious. I guess that's a good thing now. I will probably go see it somewhere though. I'm ready to learn whatever it is you have to teach me. Bring it on! lol.

You can drive at 15? Still, a VERY junior member. But thats good. We can train you and keep you from establishing bad habits or spouting stupid crap at car shows, etc.

I do have a habit of saying things that I really shouldn't and I really pick up on the bad habits. lol.

I don't even know where to start. But i will try. Sorry if i am starting too basic.

First off you will need to know the sound of Flowmasters. This is the muffler most mustangs use.

Don't bother saying "nice 99 zinc yellow mustang" Most people don't even know the official color of their car and most don't care. Just say nice car.

Make friends with some car guys, just hang out and be the tool girl and just watch over peoples sholders. This is how i started learning about cars and mustangs. I was actually your age.

The thing that helped the most is reading forums like this. You can learn a lot from people. Read other peoples questions and read the answers. You will learn.

Good luck and i hope we can help you out.

What's a car?

Buy a flowmaster catback and slap it on. Then kick back and hear the compartment noise.

A car is something with four wheels that runs on gasoline and goes fast. if its a real car its a mustang if its a semi-real car its a Ford and if its anything different I don't really care. lol

BTW: Zinc yellow wasn't available in 1999-2000. In those years it was chrome yellow such as on the '98 cobra and gt's. Enjoy your stay, and welcome!:D

Honey, go start buying magazines....... And go get a Mustang Bible "The Chilton" at like Auto Zone or somewhere...... It'll tell ya all you need to know... but the best way to learn about anything is to brake it, get it out, fix and put it back in yourself..... Nothings better than hands on experience with anything.... So girl go get your self the bible, start reading, and take something apart, and get greasy!!!!lol.... Im a woman, so I'm used to the guys not thinking I know very much..... But thats what I did I was 13 years old and built my own dune buggy, with a 302 and it held 9 people!!!!! I wrecked it when I was 14 but thats another story ;)........ But everything I know today I taught myself..... So if you want sometime you can lay all the questions you want on me and I'll help you out..... Good luck learning!

Well, I'm not as bad as I was, I figured out the many ways to change a battery. I could use some help in the how to change it properly but just start throwing stuff at me. I'll catch on!

You are just like me when I started learning about stangs. I didn't even know what an alternator was.

Don't laugh!

yeah, I go to change the battery and it takes me a couple of tries before it seems ok and two days later the car is dead again. they think its the alternator but it turns out that I didn't tight the wires enough.:)
