Need some one's advise...

The idle on my 97 Cobra Vert is rough especially when it is hot....I went to the dealer hoping that they would find the problem....They have not.....

The computer has not registred any codes for this particular problem. In my process of elimination, I have changed/did the following:

Gaz filter (replaced by OEM parts)
Spark plugs (replaced by parts)
Wires (replaced by 9mm Ford Racing parts)
Had my intakes and chamber cleaned....

I guess the only logical thing left would be the injectors to be cleaned and balanced....but my car has only 37k miles- I dought that this could be the problem, but to the point I am at!!!???

The idle is at 685 RPM (according to Ford Spec's), I do understand that it is a mustang and that there is no way that the engine would feel as it would be as sleep while idling...but my symptome is like a hick up....it idles normally (i think that it is normal) and then HICK UP!!!! it is getting on my nerves!!!!!!

Does any one ever had this problem... if yes, what was the solution to fix it? please help!!

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer back!!!

Cheers!

I run mine low on fuel quite often and recently it started to idle a little rough (probably from sucking all the crap off the bottom of the tank). I ran a bottle of Lucas Oil fuel injector cleaner through it and it smoothed right out. Bottle only ran $4 at Autozone. You could try it and see if it is your injectors.

What octane fuel are you using? My dads '01 GT did that and he asked me to diagnose it. I immediately asked him what octane gas he was using and he said 89. He stopped to fill up on the way home from the airport and I made him use 93. It fixed the problem. You should use the highest octane fuel you can and running a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner won't hurt. I use it every other fill up with a bottle of 104+ black label. You might also have someone look at your idle air control valve. Ford's are notorious for those going out. I actually supply my local Ford dealership with a particular valve because theirs is on eternal backorder. They buy about 6-8 a week from me.
