I successfully changed my header gaskets the other day. Last time I tried this I had to tow the Stang to the shop and have them do it. Simply take out the middle bolts and leave in the two outside bolts. Loosen up the outside bolts so you have enough room to move the header around a little. Then you can slide out the old header gasket and slide the new one in. Why did I change the gaskets in the first place? I put on the stage 8 locking header bolts and forgot to put the locks on. Needless to say some of the bolts backed out and there were leaks here and there. I won't forget to put the locks on this time.

A good solution to installing headers. I know they are hard to install with trying to get each header bolt started. What I would do is drill out each hole on your header a little bit to give you a little more play and room to move the bolt around.

Then you should have no problems installing the header bolts. That should take care of that problem if you install headers again.
