MSD ignition

Ihave an MSD ignition modular. Its the multiple spark discharge. I was wondering it anyone knew it they are preprogramed for different cars or not. I took it out of my 46 plymouth Coupe (400CI chevy witha high rise and dual four carbs) and want to put it into my 90 mustang 5.0. Possible or not because of the engine size and make? Any help?

Which MSD is it, 6, 6al, other.

I don't believe that they are vehicle specific. You should be able to buy the new wire harness and install it on the mustang
