My son and I have just purchased "another" Mustang. This one is an 88 with an 89 5.0 in it. Bottom end is forged and it has been converted to a carbuerator with a Wieand (?) intake. We plan on this one being a very consistent bracket racer, so we are going to dress it up a bit to. For those that were at FFW in Ennis, this is the one that tagged the wall. Damage has been fixed, but the guy took his 347 stroker out and put it in a Fox Body GT (which is badass).

Sounds pretty sweet. I would like to see some pics as you move through the buildup.
Awesome Jeff! I have always wanted a coupe. Good luck with the carburetor. I hate them with a passion. Fuel injection is my game. Keep us updated with lots of pics.

Well the build up has started. Don't have much of choice on this one. Son had a carb backfire and caught the hood on fire. Already have new hood on order along with carb and distributor. As soon as it is back up and running, I will be bringing it to Fort Worth. Guess it will be my other project now.

Coupes are awesome machines. I love mine, they are a completely different to drive then the fox GT or lx hatches. Have fun with the buildup and any pictures you get post them. I love looking at pictures, i don't know why but i do

Hopefully the work will be done by FFW in Sept. Adding an E303 cam to it also. It already had forged internals so nitrous will be added. New hood is on and also purchased a pin on trunk lid. When we finally get the car back, it will more than likely be Gloss Black with detail work added later, plus I will start on the interior. It may be illegal for street use, but I still want a looker.
Sounds like it's coming along. Can't wait to see it in person.

Work is being done at Benny's Auto Repair in Abilene, so I havent been able to even see the car with the new hood. My son says it looks awesome. Getting very anxious as the time goes on. By the way, when do you all plan on hitting the track again?
Hopefully soon. I just put a MAC X pipe, MAC cat back, KB IRS Torque Brace, and KB Aluminum Differential Bushings on the Cobra and I would like to test them out along with the line lock. I'll keep you posted Jeff.
