How about some times for your Mod Motors. We are finally :D getting a track out here in Abilene, Tx. ( www.abilenedragstrip.com ) Would like to see your times and Mods. As soon as track opens, I will get some times for mine and post, but until then, how about your times.

I finally got some runs in with my 01 GT. These times are without the use of nitrous and on street tires (slipping through 1st and part of 2nd). This was my first time on a track and I had a BLAST.

1.01 Reaction
2.23 60 FT
6.12 330 FT
9.28 1/8 ET
77.7 MPH

I will have BFG Drag Radials in a couple of weeks and PHP axle braces. With the tires, I should be able to bring my 60ft times down below 2 and use the nitrous. I had 2 other runs wihich were almost identical except the reaction times which I got alittle better with.

Broke my best time last night with a 9.14 in my 01 running N/A in the 1/8th. My wife ran our 02 and got a time of 9.7, not bad for her first time ever.

It's not a mod motor. It's in my 89 but I thought I would just throw that in. LOL
Last year it was basically stock except it had full exhaust & a B cam & a 125 dry shot. I was pulling a 1.62 60ft with stock suspension & a set of ET Drags.

This year I should get in the 11's with no problem after the swapping to some Edelbrock heads,a nitrous cam & a big-shot plate system. And also some suspension mods.

Got some new times last night at our Mustang Stampede. I think I am getting the hang of this sport and LOVING every minute of it. This run was against a 00 or 01 Vette.
ET was 9.08 at 79.4 mph, Vette ran a 9.54 at 76 mph (you LOOSE).
I just got my MSD RPM Activation Window Switch :D so I should be juicing 1st thru 4th in the near future. By the way, this is an 1/8th mile track.

Nice kill jeff. I will post some 1/8 mile times if it stops raining on thursday's here. For the past 4 weeks when I have had time to go it rains. Maybe next week it won't rain and I can get some times in.

Finally got in the 8's tonight. Installed my window switch and attempted to spray from the get go....NOT....lost traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd (forgot to lower tire pressure :o ). Second run was against a Chebby truck. Heard his dad scream "balls to the wall", then someone in the crowd hollars "Ford sucks" . Figure I want to beat this truck so I dont spray in first but I still loose traction and get a sorry 60ft (2.11) hit second and the switch, end up with a 8.99 at 80.96mph :D truck runs a 10.4. Now if I can just figure out the traction. May have to get some welds and M/T ET Streets.

May have to get the slicks!

Then you will be in the 7's!

Gonna have to beef up the rear end before slicks, but that is in the plan anyway. Not to mention a new clutch.

Kind of curious if anyone else is running drag radials and if so, what PSI are you running them at the track. I'm running around 20 PSI and wonder if I should be running lower. Maybe it would help with traction on the bottle off the line and my 60ft times.

Jeff01....What was yours and the Vette 60'..b/c somethings not right about that! My 02 Z runs 8.6x's @ 87.7 in the 1/8th...Something must have happened with him...Nice Run though.

I had a 2.05 60ft and his was around 2.2?. by the time slip, I was increasing ever so slightly all the way through the 1/8th. We have alot of vette's that have been racing and none of them seem to do very good. The fastest one Ive seen is a Z06 and that wasnt that impressive of a run. You have to take into consideration that our track is very new and people that have never run before are out there going at it and having a blast without any modifications to their cars. We dont seem to have any real grudges yet but I'm sure some will develop over time. I just go out and run who they line me up against :D

Dropped tire pressure down to 18psi tonight and squeaked out a 2.03 60ft and 8.82 at 80.96mph in the 8th. Still going to need some better tires if I want to launch on the juice.

Track closed two weekends ago. Got my final run for the year in and got a 8.77 (1/8th) at 79.96. This was N/A as I have removed the nitrous kit to run strictly engine.

When the season starts back up Jeff, we all need to hook up either here in DFW or your place maybe one weekend a month or every couple of months and go to the track, compare notes, help each other fine tune things in between runs, knock back some suds, etc. You seem to be really pumped on drag racing and your times are only getting better. I used to be really pumped on drag racing as well and it seems like I always let other things get in the way. In reading some of your posts the excitement for the sport I once had is coming back and if you can find time for it with a wife and kids, I should be able to find time for it with a wife and 3 dogs. Anyways, just my little monthly rant about my sparks of inspiration. If we don't talk before hand, have a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year from all of us at MH.:D

This spring, I am going to try and get a group of Mustang's to come up to Kennedale and run. We have quite a large group of racers that come to Abilene and likes to take home the prize money so maybe we can return the favor. ( http://abilenedragstrip.com/winnnerscircle.html ). Anytime you are ready to come down here, give me a week or two notice and I will try to set up a Mustang event. They work really well with the local clubs on setting up events on a test and tune night and even special bracket events on non-point weekends. And by the way, it took alot of years to be able to enjoy this sport. One kid is 23 and the other is 18. I am 42 going on 18 :D .
