Ah at last it's time to get started. With 170,000 miles and a new motor not possible for four years I figure for the time being I might start with the injectors. Anyone have any preferences, or preformance stats they would like to share? Also on my next day off (I'm told maybe sometime in the next fourteen days) I'm replacing plugs and wires so if anybody can give me the plug gap for a 92 5.0 it would save me hunting it down.

What size injectors you go with will depend on the extent of your modifications. If you stock 19lb. injectors have been sufficient for the past 174k miles then go with some Ford Motorsport 19lb injectors. If you plan on doing some modifications in the near future then go with 24lb. injectors and invest in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. As far as plugs go, you can't go wrong with NGK stock number 6945's. They are awesome plugs and you can pick some up for about 1.99 a piece. The gap for a 92 5.0 is .054". The Ford Motorsport plug wires and a new distributor cap, distributor rotor, and PCV valve would also be wise additions. Napa part numbers for these are as follows:

NGK V-Power plugs- #6945
Cap- FA134
Rotor- FA152
PCV valve- 2-9203

Let me know what all modifications you have and I can better recommend an injector size.

Talk about an improvement. This car ran strong in the first place, but imagine pulling the old plugs and finding them gapped .011 to small. switched the old wires to 8mm accells slapped in the new plugs, cranked it up and the difference was instantanious. My 91 has an AOD transimssions which I always suspected to be why it seemed week, but i pulled onto the highway, (I live on a paved county road five miles outside the nearest town) and floored it. ON a straight launch it instantly burned rubber through first, shifted to second and went sideways. Before you were lucky to get a straight small burnout in first. When I decide what to do next I'll let you know. Thanks Shibby.
