need advice- gears for 88 GT AOD

i have a stock 88GT that needs more punch off the line (sluggish AOD) i have read alot of stangs having 3.73's. I want a faster car around town and i dont care about milage or highway etc..., is 4.10 or 4.30 too steep?

4.10 is not to steep at all. That is my recomendation for an AOD if you aren't doing any highway driving and gas milage disn't mean anything to you you prob could go up to 4.30 but it might be a little much.

My 91 has the stock 2:73's. How much of a noticable diffrence would switching to 3:27 gears will make? I do drive on the highway at times. What about or where to get a replacement gear for speedo so it will be correct? Unless it has rear end mounted sender.
