Just picked up my 05 gt 2 days ago. I bought it off the lot. Beware dealer's are adding $3000-$5000 addendum's to sticker prices. Some will haggle, other's won't. This car is AWESOME!!!!!!
Torque is killer. Pulls strong to 6 grand. Also if your over 6' tall, you WILL love this car. Plenty of legroom and headroom. I'm 6'3" and 300 lbs. and I fit w/ room to spare. I can't say that about 94-04 stangs. Don't drive one unless your ready to buy. It's that good. Later: :D

Hey guys! Just bought the very first 05 Mustang in my city yesterday! I bought it in windveil blue clearcoat metallic. It has beige interior and beige lettering on the door that says mustang. I feel for the guy who caught hell on the price. My father-in-law works at the dealership so we were able to purchase the car at the LOW LOW price of $100 over invoice. :D Had to add $30 to the price of my insurance each month, but well worth it. I was driving (gulp :( ) an SUV before and could not wait to get out of that tank and back into a cool car. Who says just because you are a mom you have to drive a "soccer mom" car. Everyone at work is teasing me that I am going through a mid-life crisis at 31. I think they are all secretly jealous since they are driving suburbans and trailblazers. The hum of the motor is absolutely awesome. You would not believe the reactions I am getting! :p When I was driving it off the lot, a guy almost wrecked his motorcycle trying to look back (remember this is the 1st one on my small city), I went to the DMV to turn in the plate on my old SUV and a woman stopped to ask me if "that" was my car. When I told her yes, I just bought it, she started gushing about how "hot" it was...this from a 45 year old, school teacher looking woman. Guess the shelby type design really gets people. I had the window down today and passed a job sight today where about 6-8 guys were laying cement. I hear the guy leaning on the shovel (you know there is always that guy leaning and not doing anything) holler "Look guys! That's the new mustangs" When I brought the car home last night and parked it in the driveway, we actually had a car driving by slam on the brakes, put it in reverse and back up to check the car out. I could go on and on about the stories of the past 24 hours, but I think you get the picture. I know eventually, the city will be flooded with these cars, but in the meantime, I am extremely enjoying the attention that this awesome vehicle is getting and the attention I am getting for buying the first one on town. BUT..get this...I had to run to the store to get my daughter an LSU shirt to wear to school tomorrow. I park a "MILE" away from the store so that no one will hit my car. I come out an two of the biggest, ugliest, oldest jalopies are parked next to my stang! Sure, it made my car look even better, but damn....I walked around to make sure they didn't hit my baby with their door! Anyway, I highly recommend this car to anyone...I absolutely LOVE it!

Posted 2 pictures in my album. More to come as soon as I wash it and we get a nice sunny day. Figures, always sunny in San Diego and I buy it when we get rain. Good news is that it handles great on wet roads.

Picked up my new 2005 GT on Monday afternoon, from a Ford Dealer in Northeast Atlanta area. The GT was only the seond one he had sold.

Drove GT and non-GT, and of course chose the GT, kind of a gunmetal Gray color.

5 Speed Auto tranny.

Overall impression of vehicle, is that I am very satisfied with fit and finish. No delivery squeaks or rattles, the vehicle is solid.

The 4.6 liter delivers plenty of punch for the money. Manuverability exceptional, though one has to get used to the reduced visibility from right rear and left rear.

Oversized side view mirrors both remote, help compensate for the blind spot.

The old expression like riding on rails is true in this vehicle. All it takes nudge from the driver and the car goes where the driver wants it to go.

Avoidance manuvers, clean and crisp. Driving in Atlanta, in the few short days I have owned it; the vehicle's quick and agile response to brake, steering and throttle have been impressive.

The 4.6 Liter engine can easily push the vehicle to exceed legal speeds, and this car can do it easily.
It is not a car for the really young mindset. Older mature drivers with experience will enjoy this vehicle.

I have the 500 Watt stereo system, with 6 CD system. Unless you really really want the 1000, stay with the 500. Excellant audio as far as I am concerned.

Ease of access to trunk area is very good. The trunk hood lifts well clear for easy loading of luggage.

For those with youngsters, Latch Safety Anchors easily accessed in rear, though you will likely need the fittings from dealer to make things work right.

I tested the sensor system of the front passenger seat with assistance of police officer using child safety seat. The sensor works as advertised. (I work for a local police department in the Atlanta Metro Area.)

Fuel: 87 Octan. Unless you are high altitude mountain driving the 4.6 Liter is perfectly happy with 87 Octan.

Gage cluster: Prominate feature is the tach on the left side, with its 6,000 RPM red line. Under certain light conditions that red area stands out and can make you mistake it briefly for a warning light.

I got the normal cluster, with the Gas guage and the temp guage. The rest of the cluster is fitted with idiot lights.
Door ajar sensor works with both doors and the trunk.

Windshield wiper control on right side, easy to use.

Safety Belts, are rather a bit far back for some to use.
There is no head restraints in the rear seating, but the head rests are fully supportive on the front.

Leather seating is well ventalated, and comfortable. The six-way drivers seat which also has a power lumbar support is very comfortable.

Overall a very nice car to drive, with easy access to critial fluids under the hood and all containers, brake, power steering, coolant aand windshield are clear and fully viewable at a glance.

Yes I did get the 5 speed auto option. Being that I do a lot of city driving, having to manhandle a manual in traffic was something I did not want to do.

Haven't been trolling the boards in a long while. Joined a Mustang club and use theirs.
I got it in San Diego; but, can see why you asked your question. Let me elaborate.

The first price that I stated was w/ my 03 stang as a trade-in. The total cost of the car (less trade) was $35K and change. Sorry about the confusion.
