Got my new 2005 mustang. Rode it for one day, after parking it on my driveway overnight, I noticed it leaked transmission fluid. I took it back the next day. They confirmed the leak. BUT no part number was available for a new seal. Then tremac(sp) sent them a kit . no seal. ford has no part number. my new tranmision pulled from the line should be shipped today. 2 weeks in the shop . only put 80 miles on it. :-( Iam very diapointed with ford the dealer is trying everything possable but still. my car is sitting in the shop collecting dust tranny on the backseat. ok I am kidding about the back seat.

That sucks!
I am sure they will fix you up. I always tell myself if it wasen't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.
Hopefully your luck will be better in the future.
Let us know the outcome once it gets fixed.
That is weird. I'm sure Ford will hook you up. The last thing they want right now is bad press about this much anticipated car. Let us know what happens and post pics of your car as soon as you can, we need more '05 owner pics and opinions.
Good luck!:(

Whent down to the dealer today. the transmission only shipped today. :-( . They have a new one I asked to swap, but my title has already gone thru, so no deal.
BUT the owner said he is working on a maintaince agreement. plus extended warranties, and told me I can ride the new one untill monday when mine should be fixed again. So bottom line they trying to make me happy

I finally got my Mustang back. New transmission.
The little rubber seal on the shift linkage was installed incorrectly or a bad seal . it was not centered, could have been a tool problem or an assemble problem. iether way. new transmission is fine. no leaks.
FORD certainly tried very hard to make me happy. I guess they did.
Now has 600 miles on it. so how long are thoes rear tires supposed to last ?

Mustang went in this morning for a check engine light.
I had noticed a backfire sometimes when cold as well.
computer reported a miss on plug 4 the connector was loose. :-(
Maybe it will be faster now it will be running on all 8 :-}

Sounds like it might have been accidently disconnected during the transmission R&R.
Be patient. I remember when everyone was bitching about the '96 Cobra, because it was a new setup, after a few minor glitches, mine was trouble free for 62,000 miles.
My wife still wishes we had that car!

I really dont think I was running on 7 cilinders or I would have noticed. you probably right It got bumped when they were working on it. it was written up as loose and they changed the plug. But.... they did a software upgrade. HUGH difference.
seems like they found a extra 20 hp at 4k.
Car has 2k on it now and is running better and faster. The Trans- am that raced me last month, and dropped me at the tripple digit mark, had a big supprise when he saw me and tried again on sunday. blew his dorrs off. ha ha. Plus Iam sifting a lot better, I dont find the dead spot going into 3rd anymore.
Still looking for a march 1 to play wih :-(
If you own a "old" GT like mine 60 plus days I sugest you visit you local ford dealer and get the upgrade. I bet they do it at the first scheduled maintaince anyway.
Cool man. We can always use more pics, up close pics.
