I bought a silver 2005 Ford Mustang GT last week, and I know that I will have thi car for the rest of my natural life.

The way it handles, the power it has, and the classic look is going to make this car an insant classic.

I can't park my car in a public lot without someone coming up and looing at it. Some will even want to sit in it.

There is no doubt that Ford hit one out of the park with thus years stang.

Definately looks good. They have made the porno red interrior look better, it only took them ten years.

Hi Everyone,

Was crusing around and found this site....great find!

dmwason, I used to live in Lafayette...saw your license.

I just ordered a 05 GT in Sonic Blue...can't wait. My 04 in Sonic Blue was stolen 7 weeks ago...kind of bittersweet.

Great place to meet other Stang owners!

Cleared out 1 foot of snow from the driveway. Moved the expidition, and f350 4x4. just to take the stang out. It goes OK. Traction control worked great. cuts power and stops excecive wheel spin. no heated mirror's :-{ not the perfect snow car. My neighbours think I am nuts. except for the ones who have taken it for a test dive.
Working on a burnout video. car tends pull a little to the right.
I expect at least 5k on my first set of tires :-}.
over 1k miles already.
added escort sr1 remote radar. no tickets yet. very cool installation. remote fitted perfect under the left air vent.
Added clear bra to complete front end and hood. $500.
Added tinted windows. really looks cool. I will post a pic next week when the snow melts.

I'd probably give the tranny 1500 miles before I really stomped on it. After that, it would all be over with.

Hi Folks,

I'm a chevy owner (70 chevelle SS 454, 62 vette) thats going over to the dark-side. This new mustang did it! I have a question I may not be able to order unless I get the 5-speed auto., please don't ask why. I know the manual tranny is tough but anyone have experience with the auto? Is it tough, etc. I see ford changes the diff. ratio when you order it.

Still fighting for the stick but may have to go auto.

Thanks,
Jim

Hey JimG..

Welcome! I just joined also. I ordered myself a GT 5 speed last week. I have heard the automatics are supposed to be just as fast as a manual, but I personally like to shift...so I decided to wait and get what I wanted.

I also have a '69 Mercury Cougar...not quite as dark as you, but that is my "other" baby! I restored her...so I will have a nice "classic" and a new 'Stang!

Let us know what you do....I am so excited myself, been dreaming about the new car even!

The automatic tranny in the '05's is pretty stout from what I have read so far. I'm sure you will enjoy it, especially if you sit through traffic everyday.

Welcome aboard guys!

Thanks Shibby!

I test drove an automatic V6 05 and was impressed with the power. I had a 04 Mustang that was stolen a couple months ago and I swear the 05 V6 was better than my 04.

So GT...wahoo!

Thanks for the replies, good to be in this forum. I'm sending a order to my dealer for a quote. I do have a lot of traffic and a auto is easier for that. I imagine the aftermarket companies will have chips for sales to recurve, ignition, fuel, etc. soon.

Thanks

If i had to do it all over again. I would still not be able to choose.
If the dealer had a auto I would have got it.
They had a standard. If I had to order one, I doubt I would have wanted to pay the extra 900 dollars. I was told the auto is the same one from the lincon ls, for what it is worth. I have not verified that.
I drove a v6 with a auto. Nobody in colorado had a GT auto at the time.

-1 deg F this morning. No problem starting or going. That leather was cold. Should have ridden my truck, at least they heated. naah.
I still havent found any mods yet. BTW I called PIAA and they should be making a 9008 bulb soon. I am on there list.
The headlights are good, But......

So how is the weather over there in colorado other then the -1 degree in the morning.

there are no flys on the auto tranny as far as i can tell by getting to drive both auto and manual. i personally just like the manual. thats just me though. i love manual cars

Thanks for the info about the auto, I guessed that it was fine or they wouldn't put it in the stang. I really want the stick but need to teach someone in the household to shift it I get it.

But they may not want to learn ;)

Guess I can't lose either way as long as I get one.

To all, I'm new here, just joined up today. The wife just purchase a 2005 Mustang GT. Inside it's the same as Officer's Boston car, same interior and all. Outside, the color is black, just put a new bra on it. The Bra came from ford, and fits fantastic, and covers all fo the front area. Boston, thanks for the info on some driving in snow, we live in NC, so we don't see all that much, but we do get it from time to time. Was wondering how this car would handle in the snow with the traction control. We also have a 2002 F150 supercrew FX4, so if need be, we can use that in the snow. I'm not to worried about handling the car in the snow, just more worried about the other idiots around me. Like you stated earlier, we can't go anywhere without people stopping us and wanting to take a look at the car. I have to say this, Ford really did there home work on this one. It's probably one of the first cars that I trully and really enjoy to drive, and I've been driving now for about 30+ years. Will try to get some pictures up on this website soon. Also anyone in the Winston Salem, NC. Area know of any Mustang clubs?

I know it's not exactly next door, but there is a large and very active MCA regional club in the Charlotte area.
This club was instrumental in developing the driving events for MCA.
They do everything from shows, to drag racing / open track, and driving schools.
Outstanding group of people! They may also be able to hook you up w/ a more local club.
Carolina Regional Mustang Club- contact Greg Sullins [704] 843-2064- Club President.
Welcome to the site & enjoy your car.
