well for me i think i wont buy a convertible. i mean the way i see a mustang is a powerful muscular coupe, the top just makes her weaker.........if i want a conv. i would go with the bmw m3

There are plenty of 9-10 sec Cobra convertibles out there in these United States, and given removal of the speed limiter, the cars can run 180mph.
My own personal '03 Cobra runs 12s and I have had her to 172mph w/ the top up & 160mph w/ the top down. And its a daily driver, which passes federal and state emissions tests.
Is that muscular enough for you?

i guess it is enough. :D anyway can you tell me how you got the speed limiter removed and did you change the speedometer or does the pointer goes to 145 and the car just keeps on accelerating?

The PCM has been flashed, The speedometer reads to 160mph and the extra speed is read through a datalogger

excusse my ignorance: what is a pcm and how could it be falshed? and by whom? and this datalogger did you get it installed? i mean is it an extra option?

Flashing is done through the diagnostic link, and a high performance program or portions of it are downloaded into the computer [PCM]
The programs are available through a number of aftermarket tuners.
The datalogger can be any number of tools that allow you see PCM information in real time, or close to it depending on the quality of the unit and its programming.
In my case I use the Ford factory tool called NGS.
The cost is approx 2500.00.
My next purcase will be the Ford VCM, which is used with a PDS
[ palm pilot ]
This allows for communication w/ the CAN protocall, diagnostics and flashing.
This protocall is used on all '05 Ford products, and will be the required protocall for all vehicles by '08.
By the way, I am a Ford and ASE Master technician and own my own high performance shop, as well as work in a Ford dealership.

thanks man you have been a great help, and its an honour to know you, coz you know i am in my second year in mechanical engineering, and i wanna work in the oiling industry but my private business [i hope] is going to be in automotive engineering, me and my buddy are gonna do a little service center, he is a car genius by the way and he is only 19 years old.........anyway, if i come to conneticut i will sure visit your workplace. but i think 2500 dollars is to much to just reprogram a computer, dont you think???????

Actually varts aren't bad in the winter except for the possibility of the top and back window breaking from being frozen. My winter beater is a vert, makes sence don't it:D

The wife used the '95 Cobra convertible in the winter of '97, the only exceptions were in deep snow.
The tops are insulated, and windows are glass.
