Has anybody ever heard of these? They are a starter kill system with a chip to start the car.
The reason i ask is I have one on my winter beater that i want to get rid of but I don't know how. The company went out of business about 8 years ago and i can't find any information about it on the internet. Anybody have any experience with them or help in general it would be great
Is is a chip you keep on your keychain or whatever and plug it into a female socket before you can start the car?

Squeeeg,
You probably mentioned in a previous post what the beater was,I don't remember, but anyways, get a manual for it w/ wiring diagrams, then you can look at the installation, remove it, and repair any wiring that was cut/spliced etc.
If it was installed, it can be removed. We do it alot at the dealership on used cars, and we see everything from your setup to ones that require you to press mirror or window switches to start the car.
It's all crap to me!

I am just worried taht there is something other then the chip and harness in there that will cause it to malfunction.
The beater is a 92 Geo Metro 3cyl

Cool! A clown car. Is it a ragtop?
Anyways, if you bypass it and it starts & runs, you're all set. If not
time for more diag.
Remember though, you have to completely remove the system, and bring the ign/fuel system back to stock.

The clown car is great. It sure is a rag top. I picked it up from a friend with 39000 miles for $600. The only problem i have noticed was it leaked a little in the rain so i spent 6 bucks and i think that fixed it.
PS i have gone 230 miles and used a little more then half of a 10 galling tank:D
I had to remove a similar system from project silver fox. It was just a mess of wires, but I traced every thing from the box back to the ignition switch harness and the battery and just repaired where they had scotch-locked the theft system wires to the factory stuff. I don't think you will have any problems.
