I purchased a 2002 Ford Mustang GT on Sept. 1, 2002. This car has gone dead on me a total of 12 times....the last of which was today, Dec. 18, 2002 at app. 1:45 pm. The last few times this has happened, has been when I was coasting to a stop while depressing the clutch. I know many ppl. who are mechanics and "soup" up cars frequently...they all have no clue what is going on with my car. The car has been in the service center at the dealership 4 times and they still have no clue, nor have they offered some kind of settlement or deal. Please give me any advice/help you may have for me. It's a real disappointment for me, being that my choice for a car was a z28 and a gt, and the one I chose is the one that is screwing up...thanks.

Don't be discouraged. This can happen to any mechanical machine, Ford or Chevy. Sounds like it may be a fuel pump problem. If an electrical fuel pump is going out, they will work until heated up and then shut down.

I hate to say this but...I believe I heard about this on another Mustang site. Not sure which ( MustangWorld.com, Fordpower.net,StangNet), it could be any of those. So don't feel too discouraged , U r not alone. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the diagnosis, or the fix.
If I find the thread again I will let U know. At least U have some ideas of some forums that U can check in. Good Luck in your dilemma.

Ps. U might want to re-check with a Ford dealership. If U know someone there even better. They might have a Recall or some other memo on this problem.

EDIT: Try cleaning out the Throttle Body. That might help.
Good Luck !

You could check some of the other mustang web sites. They list any recalls that have been going on. good luck. I think the mustang is alot better looking then the camaro. I've been a chevy guy my whole life until i got the mustang and lightning. Just get it sorted out and enjoy your ride.
