I am a new mustang owner amd loving it. I am looking to enhance it's performance but don't know where to start. I don't even know what parts are on the market. Any sugestions.

First of all, what kind of Mustang do you have? There are so many places to go to get information and parts. You can practicly build a mustang from the ground up. Most of the first step mods I have seen are K&N air filter, headers and exhaust, springs, rearend gears, etc. Of course this all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. You can save a load doing the mods yourself.

I do have a K&N filter. I was just looking at a bully dog chip set and injectors. I know I should put a 4" exhaust in. I couldn't find a 5" for the 96.

I have standard 5 speed trany.

I dont think you can even get 4" exhaust and it would be stupid anyways. You dont want to big of an exhaust unless you want a fart can like ricers. If I were you I would get a nice short throw shifter and probably some good exhaust. www.cal-mustang.com has JBA headers for V6's and Bassani sells a cat-back that turns into dual tips just like a V8 :) Those mods would be a good starting point and maybe later down the road a supercharger but that's up to you.

go with tried and true gears and exhaust...mac makes a dual exhaust h pipe for your car, after that, a cat back for a gt would bolt on, try a shifter, cold air etc...all these are basic parts but should give it a little more kick...you wont be beating gt's and cobras without a blower or other power adder, but you didnt wanna go that fast, thats why you bought a v-6 :D
