What kind of exhaust would you recomend for my mustang.
I am thinking about about getting full exhaust for it. Starting with the headers and getting all new pipes. I don't know what to get in the way of headers. Should I get equal lengths or shorty headers and what about an X-pipe or h-pipe. What kind of mufflers should I get. I want a loud stang so people can hear me coming from a mile away. I know I live in california and the emissions is a killer here, but I am willing to take my chances.
Tell me what I need.
Love the forums!

Starting with your headers: I would get some Mac or BBK. If you are using the stock heads and intake, I would stick with the unequal shorties. When you start to get in to the high flowin' engines, shorties vs. long tube and equal vs. unequal then comes into play. The h-pipe is where you get most of your sound. Take those cats off and it is very loud. (but illegal) You can get the high flow cats, but those h-pipes gan get pretty pricy. Don't really know too much about the x-pipes, but I havn't heard anything negative about them. Finally, it's really hard to beat the cat-back system from Mac. Really great 3 chamber tone, super easy to assemble, and chrome tailpipes. 3 pieces to get the total package, but it is well worth it.

Thanks for the advice.
Are flowmaster mufflers good?
A buddy of mine has a pair on his mustang and I like the sound of those. I haven't heard the sound of the MAC mufflers, but I assume they sound just as good.

I would say that the Flowmasters might be a little louder compares to the Macs. They have more of a louder throaty sound. The Macs are a little more muted. I don't think that Flowmaster has any systems, meaning mufflers and tailpipes in one.
