Got a 5" Tach with Shift light for Christmas. Can this be tied in with the Tach in the Instrument panel or do I have to buy the adapter. Also, anyone got pics of where they installed theirs. Undecided on where to install it.

I installed mine a while ago and i'm almost positive you can tie it into the instrument panel (I have a 5.0 but 4.6's are probably close to being the same). I also put mine on the right side of my instrument panel pointed towards me. I'll try to post some pics.
p.s.when that thing lights up, IT LIGHTS UP! Enjoy

I would put it just above the center a/c vents on the left side.

Also here is a close up of the instrument cluster

I agree, right on the upper-left of those center vents would look good.

Just an FYI. You do have to buy the Tach Adapter for 99 thru 03 Mustang's. No wire to tap into. Went ahead and installed it, but will have to wait until Monday for the Adapter to show up for it to be functional. I did place it to left of the middle vents and it looks better than I thought it would.

Alright! It will be sweet when its functional. Try to get some pics. I'd love to see it.

Check out www.paulshp.com They have the tach interface and the mounting bracket that you need. They are very good people to work with.
