I have been a mustang lover all my life and I plan on ordering a 2005 GT. But I have heard rumors that they have oversold the mustangs for this year and won't be producing anymore until 2006(this was coming from a dealer I called on the phone). I have my heart set on getting one within the coming weeks and have not yet gone to a dealer. Will someone please quash this rumor so I can sleep at night until I go to another dealer?

Use WWW.FORD.COM website to check local dealer inventories. Just input your zip code and then scroll through the various dealers and look for the GT Icon on the inventory list.
You may or may not get exactly what you want, but if a local dealer has a GT close to what you want start negotiating.
Good Luck.

The dealership where I purchase mine 4 months ago is buying them from other dealerships. They are having a hard time getting them from the factory. Not that the factory isn't making them, just that so many were requested before they ever sent them out. Your not alone in this, believe me. Again check your local dealers, they should have them, if not, try checking out of your area maybe 50 - 100 miles.

I ended up driving 220 miles one way for mine. It was ordered by a poster on another forum. Came in as a manual instead of auto and he didn't want it. Close enough to what I had ordered and I was tired of waiting. Where are you? I can give you a contact at a dealer that still has my original order in the system if you are close and want to look into it. It was ordered on 12/30/04 and is still clean and unscheduled. Should be picked up for build before long. Dealer is on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

You can still get them from a particular dealer.
At least you can from us. How we work and we get the cars works like this.... Ford has an allotment given to us twice a year. For example, back in February, we sold our allotment for the first part of the year. From what I understand theyre made for particular dealers in bundles, then theyre shipped over a period of weeks. Because we sold out, we had to wait almost 2 months before we started getting more.
Can you still special order?? Yes, you should, (from us you can). Also, most other dealers aren't trading GT's. They just won't. From a dealer's standpoint, most of the tie you cannot make as much money on a traded unit anyway versus selling the car alloted to you, yourself.
Hope this helps.
