When I am driving down the road I hit the gas and the RPM's shoot up and it feels like the engine is not keeping up with the accelleration. It's almost like a lag or some sort. Is this my clutch? If not what else can this be!

What does the car do when the clutch is going out? Help Please!

Well, it sure sounds like it. Try pulling the parking brake, put the car in first and slowly letting the clutch out. The car should stall before it moves. If not, try LIFTING up the clutch pedal about 1/4". You should hear a "click", and then push the pedal to the floor a couple of times. This adjusts the clutch when using the stock cable. If this doesn't do the trick, you are probably looking at changing the clutch. Good luck, and keep us posted!

When my clutch went out it was quick. It was a very loud sound and you could smell the clutch cooking. I took mine in to have it fixed at a local mustang shop. good luck!

Thanks guys for the reply. I haven't played with the car yet. It is pretty cold up here in NY. Lots of F- ing snow if you know what I mean. I will try some of those things here real soon. Thanks again.
