does the black stripe mean anything?

If you're talking about the "C" stripe on the side then no, it doesn't mean anything other then the car was ordered with that stripe. Could have been ordered by it self or as part of the GT package.

But it certainly doesn't mean it's a 428 CJ car. Only the VIN can give you that info.

Agreed only the vin could be the tell for sure, what a shame at any rate, doesn't look as though there is anything there left to work with. Ed
