Official 2015 Mustang horsepower numbers released: GT gets 435 hp, EcoBoost 310 hp

The official horsepower and torque numbers were released by Ford today and like most folks were speculating the 2015 Mustang GT gets a modest jump to 435 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The anticipated 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine gets a rating 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.7-liter V6 loses 5 horsepower as it drops to 300.

More proof the engineers at SVT are building something sinister for the next generation S550 Mustang platform. Will this new SVT mystery vehicle be a Cobra R, Shelby GT350, GT500, next-gen Cobra or some race-spec track Mustang. Whatever SVT is building it will be amazing and well received as they rarely get anything wrong..(cough..cough..contour).

Ford to auction 2015 F-35 Lightning II Edition Mustang GT at EAA Air Venture

Ford Motor Company in partnership with the EAA Young Eagles program will auction off a custom built one-of-a-kind 2015 F-35 Lightning II edition Mustang GT on July 31st. This year will mark the seventh year Ford has built and donated a highly customized Mustang to benefit the Gathering of Eagles charity which supports the EAA Young Eagles program.

Previous one-of-a-kind Mustangs Ford has built for the Gathering of Eagles charity include U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Mustang, Red Tails edition Mustang, Blue Angles Mustang, SR-71 Blackbird, AV-X10 Dearborn Doll Mustang and the Ford AV8R Mustang. … Continue Reading

Back on July 8 in Glendale, California a woman crashed her S197 Ford Mustang into the side of an Art Studio. She found out the hard way drinking and driving don’t mix as she could not remember how she lost control of her vehicle. She was arrested for DUI and her vehicle most likely was totaled. Looks like it was newly purchased given the dealer plates. Not a good start to her Ford Mustang ownership.

2015 Ford Mustang Packaging Guide leaks out

The guide is similar to the specs guide which is released for each model year around the time production begins. Production has not begun on the 2015 Mustang but somehow the packaging guide was leaked out.

Meh might not be the right word but when the June Ford Mustang sales were revealed this is what came to mind. A shrug of the shoulders and a tightening of the lips as I look downward was my reaction and its not bad but its also not great. I was not expecting to be dazzled by some gaudy numbers as Mustang sales for June were off sharply from May numbers and its ok because the 2015 Mustang is lurking.

Debuting on the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang will be further enhancements to the already ingenious SYNC 911 Assist which is found in more than 7 million Ford vehicles. The SYNC 911 Assist allows the vehicle to connect to a local 911 operator if there has been an airbag deployment or fuel shut off. The system only works if a Bluetooth connected mobile phone is being used.
