Vaughn Gittin Jr. Finishes 3rd at Formula Drift Rd. 2 in Atlanta, Leads Point Standings

After two races of 2013 Formula Drift season Vaughn Gittin Jr. has found himself atop the podium yet again with a 3rd place finish for his Monster Energy Nitto Tire Mustang RTR team. Vaughn’s first season as a car owner is going pretty well if you ask us.  With his two podium finishes this season it puts Vaughn in the overall points lead just ahead of Daigo Saito who drives the Lexus SC430.  The next race of the season is May 31 at Palm Beach International Raceway.  Check out a gallery of photos below along with a video recap of all the weekends action. … Continue Reading

The 2013 Formula Drift season is less than two weeks away and Vaughn Gittin Jr. is ready to roll as he recently unveiled his new 845 horsepower 2014 Ford Mustang RTR Drift machine sponsored by Monster Energy and Nitto Tires.

The Ford Flat Rock assembly plant recently invited Professional Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. to come out and do what he does best, drift.  In the video Vaughn takes his Monster Energy Mustang RTR for a tire shredding drive throughout the Flat Rock property. The winner of the Bosch Iridium Edition Mustang RTR sweepstakes should be announced any day now with one lucky guy/girl taking home a custom built Mustang from the mind of Vaughn Gittin Jr.  The Bosch Iridium Mustang is valued at over $50K with a host of RTR appearance features and Ford Racing performance parts.

The Iridium Edition Mustang includes a custom blue BASF paint scheme, a set of HRE P40S wheels with Falken rubber, carbon fiber body panels, one-off RTR badging inside and out. Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Carbon Fiber RTR-C Mustang at SEMA

One of the more impressive Mustangs at this years SEMA show was drift racer Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s all-carbon fiber RTR-C Mustang.  The carbon fiber body panels on the 2010 Mustang GT were the real thing as I got an up close and personal look at them.  Every square inch of the exterior of the RTR-C Mustang was covered with carbon fiber and even the Sparco seats on the inside were made of carbon fiber.  Replacing the body panels with carbon fiber shed about 400-500 pounds off the Mustang.  Some weight was added back with the addition of the supercharger, brake kit and headers.  The total curb weight of the car is said to be 3,350 pounds.  … Continue Reading
